About me

My name is Ran Wei Li, which is my Chinese name. For data privacy and protection, I decided to take this name rather than my Latin name. My nationality is German by birth, but my origin and nationality by heart is cosmopolitan with "Mother Earth" and "Father Sky". I have a degree (Diploma) in Physics  and another one in Language, I was born in 1958 and lived most years of my life in Germany, except 3 long time periods where I was working as expatriate. These periods were:

1.1) 1978-1980 : For these two years I travelled all over non-socialist Asia and Middle-East. I climbed the Himalaya in Nepal, studied Indian history and Buddhism in Northern India, English and British Colonial History in Kashmere. Moslim world became part of my travel experience as well as several weeks of travelling in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and Jordania. In this time I became Sympathizer and Friend of Buddhism, including my strong conviction in peace-driven citizen social campaigns, in especially those against nuclear war risks destroying our planet for ever. I consider Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein as my main teachers for political change.

1.2) 1985 - 1990: During this period I have been working in Barcelona (Spain) as Computer Specialist and Automotive Engineer. My university research topic in Physics was Laser Optics for cancer research, but besides this I did Research & Development projects in many different fields related to Transportation and Navigation. Even though I had little time besides my world-wide industry projects developing hard- and software for automotive industry, I never gave up my private research preference analysing Relativity Theory and its significance for Astrophysics. This Web-Site reflects my results. In 1990 I returned with my wife to Berlin, married and became a happy father.

1.3) 2006 - 2010: After our auto company was sold to a Telecom operator, I was promoted as Head of Business Development for a team of engineers in China.  My family and myself moved to Beijing and became part of the booming Chinese economy. Since 2011, we are back in Europe and now I feel completely globalized and close to 'Earth' and 'Sky' again.
